CoLab

CoLab
In Colab, we provide a specialized learning environment tailored to each student’s unique needs. Guided by the McGraw Hill curriculum and aligned with ESE standards, instruction is individualized to meet students where they are academically and help them progress at their own pace. Whether a student needs extended time on a concept or is ready to move ahead, we adapt accordingly to ensure deep understanding and mastery.
Beyond academics, Colab places a strong emphasis on building essential life skills. Students engage in activities that support the development of independence, communication, social-emotional growth, and real-world problem-solving. Additionally, we incorporate exercises that strengthen both fine and gross motor skills, helping students gain greater confidence and coordination in everyday tasks.
Curriculum
Literacy
We ensure that the students build foundational skills (spelling, phonics, word analysis, oral language development), understand reading and responding (comprehension, close reading, fluency, discussion, answering questions, vocabulary, thinking), and are fluid in language arts (writing and grammar usage).
Math
The curriculum focuses on both inquiry-focused and teacher-guided instructional strategies with each lesson. Students have the chance to practice on their own from their learning and skills. Students focus on learning numbers and number value, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. When needed, students work with manipulatives, counters, and visuals to tie in the lesson and help them understand the material.
Science
Students in kindergarten through fourth grade have the opportunity to utilize project based learning techniques in designing toys, solving real world problems, building robots, and learning programming using Kodable and Wonder Robots. TWIG science taps into the exploratory nature of students, engages them in learning that feels like play, and encourages them to keep discovering. Our lessons are hands on, giving the students the opportunity to learn by creating.
Social Studies
Impact Social Studies helps students gain building blocks for critical thinking and develop strong reading and writing foundations. Children will learn about community, how to be an active and responsible citizen, and about our country’s history.
